With a PhD in electrical and mechanical eng, Pierre has been designing, optimizing and testing electric motors and drive systems through to production for 15+years. He has authored 15 publications incl. 4 patents. Throughout his career, Pierre’s motor designs are being used reliably in more than 3M EVs, 10M home appliances and 100k micro-mobility solutions.

He has developed a deep specialization in computational electromagnetics and also has extended experience of thermal and mechanical numerical modelling. In order to deliver system level optimal solutions, Pierre employs proprietary highly scalable motor design tools, taking into account the multi physics nature of the problem alongside with a complete system level approach (considering battery / motor controller / motor / transmission).

Having worked on multiple successful commercial electric motors and power systems through their complete development cycle, Pierre has realism about the importance of design for manufacturing, reliability testing, supply chain intricacies, among others. He creates bespoke testing equipment and strategies for motors and systems, both in terms of performance and reliability characterization.

Complementing his technical expertise, Pierre effectively communicates technical conclusions and summaries to non-technical audiences, enabling business stakeholders to make effective decisions from his work. He has produced executive level presentations at both Tesla and Dyson which have led to important product decisions and project advancements.
